The accompanying resource file came my way from the wonderful folks in Cupertino (he said, tongue firmly planted in cheek) with no accompanying documentation. After fidgeting with it for a few hours I have the following insights to offer. Hope they are of some use to you.
The file consists of a resource which one may paste into his/her System file using ResEdit (can you believe that there is finally a release version of this beast which doesn't have a "d" for developmental in its name?!? . . .Thank God for Tom Mackie who passes along these gems to this bulletin board!). Once added to your System file the resource will replace the former dialogue box which accompanied serious system alerts (popularly known as "Bomb Boxes").

is usable only with the "new"
(ita est, 128K) ROMs
The "new" SysAlerts have a fully functional "Resume" button as well as the familiar "Restart" button. In addition to these there is a third button which is labelled "Finder". Clicking on this last lovely will indeed return you to the Finder (if at all possible . . . The Mac isn't terribly good at sorting out System errors, as we all know so well).
One final addition to the Serious System Error Alert Boxes is that you will no longer be cofronted by those cryptic messages such as ID=23 . . . Now you will be provided with an equally cryptic message describing the type of error confronted (check "Inside Macintosh" for attempts at explaining their meaning . . . Unless you are somewhat familiar with programming jargon they still won't mean more than a hill of beans to you, but at least they are somewhat friendlier than cold, hard integers.)
There it be. Such advice as I have to offer. Let me know if you discover other embelishments to the ever popular "Bomb Box".
